Former Union Agriculture Minister and NCP chief Sharad Pawar will be honored with this year's Tilak Sanman Puraskar for his contribution to Green Revolution. This was announced today in Pune at a Press Conference organised by Lokmanya Tilak Smarak Trust. <br/><br/>The award will be presented to Mr. Pawar by the Chairman of the Trust Dr. Dipak Tilak at Tilak Smarak Mandir in Pune on 1st August, the 96th Death Anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. The award Includes a citation and 1 Lakh rupees.<br/><br/>This is the 34th year of Lokmanya Tilak Sanman Puraskar. Before this President Pranab Mukherjee, Ex. President Dr. Shankardayal Sharma, Ex. Prime ministers Indira Gandhi, Atal Bihari Bajpai and Dr.Manmohan Singh, were felicitated with this award. <br/><br/>Other Dignitaries who received this prestigious award in past include veteran socialist leader S. M. Joshi, Communist Leader S. A. Dange, Ex. RSS chief Balasaheb Deoras and Sarahad Gandhi Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan.
