Shaoib Malik's family applies for visas to India for wedding

Six members of Shoaib Malik's family have applied for visas to travel to India for the Pakistani cricketer's much-anticipated wedding with tennis star Sania Mirza. The applications were submitted by Shoaib's uncle Zafar Malik.

Official sources said in Islamabad that Shoaib himself has not submitted his application so far. But he was expected to do it soon. The sources also confirmed that Shoaib's mother was granted visa to travel to India last month. It is speculated that Shoaib's mother made the marriage proposal to the Mirza family during the trip.

Shoaib and Sania are set to marry in April and shift to Dubai after tying the knot. The two met in Australia in January. Sania broke off her engagement with Sohrab Mirza earlier although she cited incompatibility as the reason for the break up.
