All rounder Shane Watson has stepped down as the vice-captain of the Australian test cricket team. In a statement released by Cricket Australia today, Watson said, he needed to focus on scoring runs and taking wickets. He said, he won't be the vice-captain in title, but he can still be a leader and strong contributor in the team.Watson said, he wrestled with this decision and once he made up his mind, he informed the selectors, who could now consider their options for the Ashes, the squad for which will be announced soon.Michael Clarke is the current captain of the Australian test team.
