Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktiknat Das today cautioned e- retailer Amazon after its US portal put up flip flops with Mahatma Gandhi's face on it. In a tweet, Mr. Das asked Amazon to behave better and desist from being flippant about Indian symbols and icons. He said the indifference will be at the company's own peril. However, in another tweet, the Secretary said he made the comment as a citizen of India as he feels strongly about it.<br/><br/>Few days ago, the e – retailer had expressed regret over featuring Indian flag on certain items for sale by Amazon Canada website and stopped selling them. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had asked the company to tender an unconditional apology and withdraw all products immediately insulting national flag.
