The 42nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) beginning tommorow at the Ravindra Bhavan auditorium in Margao, Goa is all set to showcase the best of Indian cinema and International masterpieces by renowned filmmakers. The ten-day extravaganza will be inaugurated by Bollywood Star, Sharukh Khan. Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Ambika Soni and Chief Minister of Goa, Digambar Kamat will also grace the occasion.
This 42nd edition is billed as the ‘Festival of Change’ and is having the theme of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ which means The Whole World is One Family. More than 100 movies from 65 countries will be screened during the festival. A first of its kind section on Animation films and a section showcasing changing technological advances in Cinema through ‘3D Cinema’ are two of the highlights of the festival. A special package of football films is also a feature in the film festival.
With the theme – ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ -which means The Whole World is One Family, the 42nd edition is billed as a ‘Festival of Change’ as it seeks to bring in novelty into the concept of the festival.
For the first time, an official festival poster designed by a renowned Art Director, Padamshree Thota Tharani, portraying a dancing peacock couple depicting the mood of celebration has been released.
Termed to be more people friendly this time, more than 100 movies from 65 countries will be screened during the festival.

Keeping in mind the game of Soccer being passionately followed in the coastal state, there is also a special package of football films in the festival.In its 8th year now in Goa, IFFI is playing a leading role in inculcating a film culture among rising audiences.
