Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir governments have signed an agreement to fast-track the completion of much-delayed 206 megawatt 2,285-crore rupees Shahpur Kandi dam project on the Ravi river. <br/><br/>The secretary level agreement was signed in Chandigarh yesterday. Mr KS Pannu singed on behalf of Punjab, Sauraon Bhagat from J&K and Dr Amarjit Singh signed on behalf of Government of India. Shapur Kandi project was declared a national project in February 2008 by the Centre.
