<br/>Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir have signed a Secretary level fresh pact for the fast-track completion of the much-delayed 206 megawatt (MW), Rs 2,285-crore Shahpur Kandi dam project on the Ravi river. <br/><br/>The secretary level agreement was signed in Chandigarh today. Mr K S Pannu singed on behalf of Punjab, Sauraon Bhagat from J&K and Dr Amarjit Singh signed on behalf of Government of India. <br/><br/>Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation , Punjab this, of course, is subject to ratification by the respective state governments. Thereafter, the work shall start immediately. <br/><br/>Shapur Kandi project was declared a national project in February 2008 by the Centre.<br/>
