Local golfer Amit Shah qualified from the Ahmedabad qualifiers for the National Final of the 18th edition of the MercedesTrophy in Ahmedabad today. Playing at the Kalhaar Blues and Greens on the qualification day, Shah carded a Nett. score of 73.6 to finish in top spot. He will now be competing against 39 other golfers selected from qualifiers across 11 other cities of the tournament in the National Final to be held at Pune's Oxford Golf Resort from April 4 to 6. Shah becomes the third person to qualify for the finals after the first two days of the opening leg in Pune saw one qualification on each day. The best Gross Winner of the day was Rajiv Vipin Vasa with a score of 79 and there were a host of other prizes on offer to be won as well.
