Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that the state government would extend the benefit of Shagun scheme to all backward classes from April 1st this year. He said in Ludhiana that the government had already issued instructions to clear the pending cases of Shagun payment within one month. He said that under the proposed Right to Service Act, Punjab government would try to contemplate an element of accountability among the public servants. He said that Right to Service Act was the main axis of governance reforms that would cut red tape in the public services.
