The SGPC has urged Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to impress upon the Governments of Malaysia and Australia to safeguard lives, properties and religious places of the Sikh community in their countries.<br/><br/>In communiques to the Prime minister and Home Minister P. Chidambaram, the SGPC Chief Avtar Singh Makkar said the country could convey views of its religious minority community by using diplomatic channels. <br/><br/>Some unidentified persons and pelted stones on a Gurdwara in Kulalumpur, while an under-construction Gurdwara in South east Suburb of Melbourne was damaged in a fire. <br/><br/>The SGPC Chief requested the Australia and Malaysia governments to conduct probes into the incidents and brought to book the people responsible for this.
