Polling is taking place today for the 170 member General House of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committe – SGPC in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. Around 57 lakh Sikh voters are elegible to vote. More than 14 thousand polling stations have been set up across the three states and Chandigarh. Punjab will elect 157 members, Haryana 11 and Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh one each. The 170 members will include 30 women. More from our correspondent:
