Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia bagged the first prize in 21 kilometer long Delhi Half Marathon in the men's category today. Lucy Kabuu of Kenya emerged champion in the women's category. The first prize in both categories carried a cash reward of 25000 US dollars each. Suresh Kumar finished first among Indian men and overall 20th in the race. Lalita Babbar successfully defended her title and was the fastest woman among Indians. Nearly thirty thousand, five hundred people participated in the event which is considered one of the most prestigious Half Marathon in the world. The most popular segment was the seven kilometre long Great Delhi Run in which more than twenty one thousand enthusiastic Delhites took part. Other categories included the race for Senior Citizens and wheel chair participants. Prasar Bharti was the broadcast partner for the event.
