In Haryana, a doctor and his compounder has been arrested from a house in Karnal while conducting sex determination test. An official spokesman said a portable ultrasound machine has been seized from them.Authorities told AIR that action will be taken against the doctor and his compounder under the provision of PNDT Act. It may be reaclled that the Karnal ultrasound centre of the accused Dr Brij Bhushan too was sealed in February for committing various irregularities. In another incident at Mahendergarh a health department team led by Deputy Commissioner Saket Kumar has arrested a staff nurse for terminating pregnancy of a woman in a workshop. A case has been registered against him under PNDT Act.
