Severe heatwave has swept the northern, western and eastern parts of India.

In Uttar Pradesh, the day’s maximum temperature has shot up to over 45 degrees celsius.

Our Gorakhpur correspondent reports that the scarcity of drinking water has been reported from Bundelkhand region.

In Rajasthan, Severe heat is affecting the entire state. Our correspondent has reported that Sri Ganganagar was recorded 45.7 degree celcius yesterday. In West Bengal, the murcury has risen to 44 degree celcius.

The heatwave is severe particularly in Bakura, Purulia and West Midnapur districts. So far, four deaths have been reported from different districts in the state.

Severe heat wave conditions are prevailing all over Odisha with many cities recording more than 40 degree Celsius.National Capital, Delhi has also recorded 40 degree celcius temperature yesterday.
