Severe heat wave continues in most part of the country

Heatwave situation continues unabated in most parts of the country on Thursday.<br/> <br/>In Delhi, after braving scorching heat in the past few days, people may expect some relief in the coming days with the met department predicting a fall in mercury levels. <br/> <br/>AIR correspondent reports, the national capital continues to reel under the intense heat wave with the mercury expected to touch 44 degrees on Thursday. <br/> <br/>However Delhites can expect some relief from the rising mercury with the Met Department predicting partly cloudy sky with possibility of light showers in some areas today. Dust and thunder storms could also greet the city towards the evening.<br/> <br/>Entire Rajasthan continues to be under severe heat wave. Both day and night temperatures are five to seven degrees above normal, which has thrown normal life out of gear. <br/> <br/>According to AIR Jaipur Correspondent Sriganganagar continues to be the hottest place in the state with mercury recording more than 49 degree celsius. <br/> <br/>The entire Rajasthan is boiling for the last one week as maximum temperatures are hovering around 47 to 49 degree Celsius. The rising temperatures have forced the health department to freeze the transfers of medical staff. <br/> <br/>The blistering heat has also increased the flow of patients in the hospitals complaining dizziness, nausea and dehydration. Health department has instructed all the district hospitals to take measures to meet with the situation. <br/> <br/>Power cuts and disruption in drinking water supply has further added to the miseries of the people. According to Met. Deptt. there are no chances of respite from scorching heat wave in the coming 48 hours. <br/> <br/>In UP, almost all the regions are under the grip of e intense heat wave . Agra recorded 38.6, degrees at 8:30 this morning while the temperature hovered between 30 to 37 degrees in rest of the places. <br/> <br/>Bundelkhand remains the hottest place in the state where people avoid venturing outside during the day time. Drinking water and fodder problem still persists in 7 districts of Bundelkhand. <br/> <br/>AIR Gorakhpur correspondent reports that the temperature is relatively low in terai region and adjoining east UP. <br/> <br/>The sky is cloudy in east Uttar Pradesh but the humidity is still tormenting the people. The day-to-day work is hampered due to intense heat. The fruits are selling high but perishable vegetables have become cheaper. <br/> <br/>The land has been parched and farmers are waiting for pre-monsoon showers to soften the land so that they can prepare fields for paddy sowing. The dust storm is still hitting the eastern area. <br/> <br/>Met office has warned dust storm in scattered areas of the state during next 48 hours. <br/><br/>In Madhya Pradesh, northern parts of the state continued to reel under severe heat wave conditions with Sheopurkalan recording the highest maximum temperature in the state at 47 degrees. <br/> <br/>AIR Correspondent reports, there is no respite from intense heat in Gwalior, Chambal, Sagar, Ujjain and Rewa divisions of the state. <br/> <br/>Sheopurkalan recorded the highest maximum temperature of 47 degrees while Tikamgarh, Gwalior, Shivpuri and Guna recoded the maximum temperature of 46 degrees. <br/> <br/>Meanwhile one more CRPF jawan undergoing treatment at a Gwalior hospital after suffering from heat stroke died on Wednesday. More than 15 deaths due to intense heat have been reported across the state so far.<br/><br/>Like other parts of Northern India, Jammu region is also reeling under severe heat wave as the maximum temperature from the last couple of days is hovering around 45 degree Celsius in Jammu. <br/> <br/>AIR Correspondent reports, the severe heat wave has thrown life out of gear not only in urban areas but in rural areas also of Jammu region. <br/> <br/>The acute power and water crisis is further compounding the woes of the people not only in Jammu city but other districts also. <br/> <br/>On Wednesday people of two villages and some hamlets of Rajouri district held demonstrations and blocked Jammu-Poonch road for many hours. <br/> <br/>They were protesting against acute shortage of water and alleged that Government is least bothered about their plight in such a scorching heat .<br/>
