Severe heat wave conditions continue in most parts of northern & Central India

Severe Heat wave conditions continue unbated in northern, central and western parts of the country. <br/><br/>The heatwave continues unabated in the national capital with the mercury touching 45.2 degree celcius.<br/><br/>This is a degree more than the yesterday's temperature and four degrees above normal. Met office has no good news for Delhiets as heatwave conditions are likely to continue tomorrow as well the temperature to further peak 46 degrees.<br/><br/>Like other parts of Northern India, the entire Jammu region is reeling under severe heat wave as the maximum temperature yesterday in Jammu that touched 45 degree Celsius remained same today also.<br/><br/>The severe heat wave has thrown life out of gear in Jammu region and it has taken toll of one life in Kathua distict of the region so far. The acute power and water crisis is further compounding the woes of the people who will have to reel under similar weather conditions for more days as weathermen has predicted mainly dry weather across the State in general and Jammu region in particular for unspecified period.<br/><br/>However, the world famous shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi is comparitively cooler by a few degrees Celsious and the yatra there has been going on normaly.<br/><br/>An average number of 30 thousand pilgrims are visting the holy Trikuta Hills shrine every day yet the devotees are prefering to walk on the track to the Holy Cave during the night time to avoid the sultry heat of the day time. <br/><br/>Kota in Rajasthan was the hottest region yesterday with the mercury settling at 48.4 degrees. The temperature crossed the 48 degree mark in Sriganganagar and Jaisalmer as well.<br/><br/>Heat wave conditions also prevailed over north and Kutch region of Gujarat with Bhavnagar boiling at 45.1 degree celsius and the mercury settling at 44.4 degrees in Ahmedabad <br/><br/>Punjab and Haryana too witnessed intense heat with Hisar recording its hottest day in over a decade at 48.1 degrees, seven degrees above the normal. At 45.9 degree celsius Amritsar recorded its highest temperature this season. <br/><br/>In Maharastra, Nagpur sizzled at 47.2 degrees while the temperature was 48.3 degrees in Bramhapuri and 48 degree celsius Wardha.<br/><br/>With hot winds blowing across several places, National Capital also didn’t receive any respite from the rising mercury. The maximum temperature settled at 44.6 degrees and the minimum at 29.6 degrees.<br/><br/>Severe heat wave conditions continue unabated in most parts of Madhya Pradesh. Our Bhopal correspondent reports that several districts of the state recorded maximum temperatures of above 44 degrees.<br/><br/>Intense heat has made life miserable in Gwalior , Chambal, Sagar, Rewa and Ujjain divisions. Erratic power supply has worsened the situation.<br/><br/>Sheopurkalan recorded the highest temperature of 47 degrees today while Khajuraho and Gwalior recorded the maximum temperature of 46 degrees each.<br/><br/>According to Met Office the weather will remain same during the next 24 hours. However, it has predicted thunder showers in Gwalior and Chambal divisions. <br/><br/>In UP, the intense heat is still tormenting the people while the temperature is once again on rise in central and eastern regions after a brief respite. The people are facing hardship due to increased humidity. The day time power cut is also posing problem to people and industries.<br/><br/>Temperature is again increasing in eastern districts after a brief spell of rain. The people are facing hardship due to increased humidity and hot sun. The power cut during the day has increased. The sky is hazy in a large area of eastern UP. The met office has predicted thunderstorm and squall in Gorakhpur, Basti and Azamgarh divisions during next 24 hours.
