Severe Heat Wave Affects Normal Life in most parts of India

<br/>Heat wave continues to affect life in the northern, central and western parts of India. In Gujarat several cities are reeling under 40 plus temperature . AIR Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that Ahmedabad city has recorded maximum temperature of 44.6 degree Celsius.<br/>Ahmedabad city has recorded maximum temperature of 44.6 degree Celsius today, which is five degree above normal. Current heat wave conditions also create water scarcity in the rural areas and authorities have started water supply through tankers in many villages. However, Surat city has recorded 35.7 degree Celsius maximum temperature, which is 2 degree below normal. Met officials have also predicted some relief in scorching heat in coming days.<br/><br/>In Uttar Pradesh, the mercury has crossed 46 degrees celsius as the heatwave continues relentlessly. Three more people succumbed to heatwave during past 24 hours. Jhansi remained hottest place where the temperature was recorded at 46.2 degrees celsius.<br/>The sky is hazy in Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Allahabad but the scorching heat continues to disrupt normal life. There is one to two degrees rise in temperature from yesterday and met office has predicted further rise of one degree celsius in day’s maximum temperature during next 48 hours. Intense heat is causing shortage of electricity and also of drinking water in urban areas. The people are facing worst-ever heat in April and expecting change in weather soon. Salman<br/>In Rajasthan, the relentless heat kept most people indoors with the mercury touching 45.5 degrees in Churu. In Delhi, a day after the maximum temperature rose to a 52-year high at 43.7 degrees, it dropped to 43 degrees today but the minimum rose by 4.1 degrees to touch 30.6 degrees in the morning hours. Delhi has been in the grip of an unprecedented heat wave for the past 11 days.<br/>Meanwhile, with heatwave intensifing in most parts of country tourist arrivals to kashmir valley are picking up much to the delighlt of people related to tourist trade. Our Srinagar correspondent reports nearly two lac tourists visited the valley in the first quater of this year.<br/>In Jammu, a modest shower today brought a little respite from soaring temperature for the people there. The mercury, which rose to 42.8 degrees Celsius yesterday, plunged few notches today.<br/>Rain occurred at many places in Kerala and isolated places in Lakshadweep.
