Severe heat wave affects normal life in most parts of India

The heatwave continues to sweep most part of the country with the temperature hovering above 45 degree celsius at many places. <br/> <br/>The national capital has been continously witnessing unprecedented hot weather condition and heatwave over the last week with the mercury crossing the 43 degree mark in the month of April itself. <br/> <br/>With conditions of heat wave and severe heat wave prevailing over the city, people have been forced to stay indoors. <br/> <br/>However MET officials claim that Delhites can expect a slight respite from the sweltering heat in coming days. The Met Director Mr R.K.Vashist while talking to All India Radio said that the temperatures might fall by 1 to 3 degrees in the coming days.<br/> <br/>The maximum temperature is expected to be around 41 degree celsius and minimum will hover around 29 degrees. The rising mercury has adversaly affected the normal life. But with predictions of fall in temperature Delhites can breathe a sigh of relief.<br/> <br/>In Rajasthan, western parts are still affected by severe heat-wave while in Jaipur and other parts today temperature have decreased. Dust storm is affecting road traffic in desert areas.<br/> <br/>The Uttar Pradesh is reeling under severe heat conditions and most part of the state recorded 4 to 6 degree Celsius higher temperature than normal. According to met department that Agra was the hottest place where mercury touched to 45.6 degree Celsius. <br/> <br/>While Jhansi recorded 45.4 degree Celsius, Allahabad 44.6 degree Celsius and Varanasi recorded 45.2 degree Celsius in last 24 hours. The met department says that during next 24 hours there is possibility of thunder showers in various places of UP.<br/> <br/>However, normal lives remain affected through the state mainly short supply of electricity. <br/> <br/>According to official sources due to continuous heat wave the demand for power supply has shot up but the supply is less than required. The reduce power generation in Aanpara power plant has also made situation tough for several parts of state.<br/> <br/>Heat wave conditions swept several parts of the Maharashtra with mercury hovering over 40 degree Celsius in many areas. <br/> <br/>Heat wave was gradually gripping entire Maharashtra. The maximum temperature too rose over south central Maharashtra and changed little over rest of the region. <br/> <br/>Bhusawal located in Jalgaon district in Northern Maharashtra recoreded the maximum temperature of 47.5 degree Celsius since on Sunday. Two suspected death of sunstroke was recorded in Bhusawal from last two days. <br/> <br/>North Maharashtra is in the grip of a heat wave with the mercury soaring to 43 degrees Celsius from many days. They were above normal over central Maharashtra and Marathwada. Rising temperature has created panic in the Marathwada and vidarbh district as there were reports of the maximum temperature.<br/><br/>
