Severe dust storm and rain claim 50 lives in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.In Uttar Pradesh, at least 40 people have been killed in the accidents related to squall and dust storm that hit at least a dozen districts. Light to heavy rain has also lashed these districts. AIR Gorakhpur correspondent reports that high velocity dust storm continued for third consecutive day in the eastern district paralyzing normal live. Trees, electric and telephone poles were up rooted snapping the electricity and communication in these districts. Two people died in Azamgarh whereas more than ten people were injured in Ambedkar Nagar as a tree fell on them. The met office has predicted squall in most of the eastern and central districts during next 48 hours. In Bihar at least ten persons have been killed following thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain in six districts of the state. Electric polls, mobile towers and a number of tress were uprooted in Patna, Buxar, Begusarai, Khagaria and Bhagalpur districts. Road and rail traffic were badly affected due to heavy rains. Weatherman predicts that rain and thunderstorms are likely to continue till tomorrow. AIR correspondent reports that a there was a complete darkness in Patna for about an hour this noon due to dark and heavy clouds.
