Severe cold conditions continues to grip Jammu region; 06 flights cancelled and 10 trains delayed

In Jammu and Kashmir, severe cold conditions continued to grip the Jammu region while six flights were cancelled and 10 trains were delayed on Saturday due to dense fog in the region. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that Jammu's day temperature has recorded a sharp fall for the last three days and it was nearly 8 degrees below normal on Saturday. However, the night temperature has experienced a slight rise as compared to Friday. The plain areas of the region were under dense fog since Friday evening and during the morning hours today while the Sun was not visible throughout the day on Saturday. With this, the train and air service was badly affected on Saturday. Six flights were cancelled due to dense fog whereas, five flights were delayed at Jammu Airport on Saturday. 10 trains were delayed and one was cancelled at Jammu Tawi Railway Station on Saturday. The winter capital city-Jammu yesterday recorded a day temperature of 10.3 degrees Celsius, as compared to 13.7 degrees Celsius on Friday and a night temperature of 5.9 degrees Celsius. Katra Mata Vaishnodevi recorded a minimum temperature of 4.6 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 13.4 degrees Celsius; Bahderwah town had a maximum temperature of 13.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum of -0.4 degrees Celsius. Batote town recorded a minimum temperature of 1.9 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 13.6 degrees Celsius while Banihal town's night temperature of -1.4 degrees Celsius and day temperature of 14.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday.<br />
