Severasl steps taken to improve industrial climate : MoS Commerce

The government has taken many confidence building measures to improve the industrial climate and manufacturing in the country. This was informed by the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Dr S Jagathrakshakan in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today. He said that the measures include the announcement of the National Manufacturing Policy with the objective of enhancing the share of manufacturing in GDP to 25 per cent and creating 100 million jobs over a decade. The policy also seeks to put in place measures to improve industrial infrastructure including setting up of National Investment and Manufacturing Zones, simplify bussiness regulation and incentivize clean technology skill development and investment in micro small and medium enterprises. Dr Jagathrakshakan said that other measures include facilitation of industrial investment to promote Foreign Direct Investment and regular meeting with industry associations and stakeholders to fast track implementation of industrial projects.
