<span style="color: #222222;">Several states and Union Territories are celebrating a green Diwali to avoid air as well as noise pollution. On Monday, the National Green Tribunal, NGT imposed a total ban on sale or use of all kinds of firecrackers in the Delhi-NCR region from November 9 midnight to November 30. The NGT order said that the ban will be applicable in cities and towns across the country where the air quality is in poor category. The NGT order came in a bid to protect vulnerable people from the increase of air pollution amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Adhering to the guidelines issued by the NGT, several states have banned firing of crackers and decided to celcebrate a green Diwali.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In Maharashtra, the state government has requested the people to celebrate Diwali with simplicity by lighting diyas and staying at home. Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray urged the people not to burst crackers. The local administration has banned bursting of crackers in public places during Diwali owing to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In Karnataka, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has urged the people to celebrate Diwali in a simple way and only use green crackers. In Karnataka, only the sale of green crackers is allowed.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In Andhra Pradesh, the state Government has given permission for bursting of Green firecrackers only for two hours during Deewali festival.  As per an Official release, crackers should be burst only between 8 PM And 10 PM .</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In Odisha, the state government has banned the sale and use of crackers during the festive season to check air pollution that could aggravate health conditions of COVID-19 patients.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Anybody found violating the Calcutta High Court's order banning the use and sale of firecrackers in West Bengal during Diwali, Kali Puja, Chhath and Kartik Puja to curb pollution amid the Covid-19 pandemic, will attract strict actions.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In Uttarakhand, the state government has permitted firing of green crackers only and restricted bursting of crackers for two hours on Diwali, Gurpurab and Chhath in six cities. These six cities include  Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Haldwani Rudrapur, and Kashipur. While the state government has fixed a time slot of 8 pm to 10 pm on Diwali and Gurpurab during which the crackers can be burst, green crackers can be used from 6 am till 8 am on Chhath.  </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In the national capital Delhi, the state  government has also  put a complete ban on the sale, purchase, and use of all kind  firecrackers till 30th of  November in view of air pollution and COVID-19 cases.</span><br />
