In Uttar Pradesh light rainfall has been recorded today at most of the places but river Ganga, Sharda, Ghaghara, Kosi, Rapti and Melon are flowing above danger mark at several places. The state government has claimed no flood like situation in any district of the state.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that several villages under Paliankala and Nighasan tehsils in Lakhimpur Kheri district are surrounded with flood water of river Sharda. Local administration has set up relief centers for flood affected people. In Deoria and Shrawasti districts Ghaghara and Rapti rivers are flowing above danger mark. In Sitapur district water level of river Ghaghara is rising and land erosion has taken place in the incatchment areas of the river. In Rampur district Kosi river has affected several villages and standing crops in the district.In Meerut district hundreds of people have been shifted at relief centers from the villages marooned with flood water of river Ganga which has inundated thousand acres of land damaging standing crops. Lakhs of cusecs of water from Banbasa, Narora, Nanak Sagar and Dunee barrages have been released in Ganga and Sharda rivers and it has affected water level of these rivers.
