In Uttar Pradesh, several rivers continue to be in spate due to heavy rain in their catchments. The low-lying areas remain inundated even as 24 hours flood alert has been sounded. Scattered rain has occurred in several eastern districts while western districts witnessed heavy rainfall on Friday. Several acres of cultivated land are submerged in Barabanki, Banda and other districts where the administration is keeping vigil on river embankments.
