Several people lose lives due to floods in UP

In Uttar Pradesh due wide spread rain in most of places in eastern UP in last forty eight hours several people have lost their lives in rain related incidents. According to state relief Commissioner 17 people died in Jaunpur district and 7 people have lost their lives in Mirzapur district. Casue of the deaths in most of the case was house and wall collapsed due to heavy rain in these districts. The heavy rain and water logging on tracks at Mugalsarai and Varanasi also disturbed rail traffic on Delhi-Howra route. The eastern railway PRO V. Ram told AIR Allahabad correspondent that the signal system has now be restored partially in this Mugalsarai section and train movements are being normalised. However several trains are still running behind the schedule on this route. Several other places road transport was also badly hit due to water logging. Meanwhile in rain affected districts and Flood PAC teams have been alerted. PAC teams have also been sent to Jaunpur and Mirzapur. Both the districts are worst affected from rain occurred recently. According to flood control unit there is no fresh flood threat in the state though in some places rivers are howing rising trends. The met department says that rain and thunder showers would occur in most of the place of eastern UP and in some places of east UP heavy rain fall would be recorded in next forty eight hoursAccording to Met department Varanasi, Mirzapur and Allahabad Division has recorded heavy rain fall in last thirty six hours. While many other places of eastern UP has also recorded good rain .Varanasi recorded about 300 mm rain while jaunpur 122 mm, Bara in Allahabad division 125 mm and Mirzapur 150 mm and Robertsganj 277 mm rain in last thirty six hours .
