Several parts of North India under grip of severe heat waves conditions

The heat wave conditions continue unabated in most parts of northern India. In Uttar Pradesh life has become uncomfortable due to intense heat and Humidity. Agra recorded highest 46.6 degree Celsius and Jhansi in Bundelkhand region touches 46.2 degree Celsius during last twenty four hours. <br/> <br/>According to the met department, in other parts of the state the temperature is not very high but easterly winds have caused a high level of humidity. The weather is partly cloudy in some areas in the state on Tuesday.<br/> <br/>In eastern UP some parts including Gorakhpur division, Mirzapur, Hardoi, Lakhimpur kheeri and Kanpur received light showers during last twenty four hours. The Met department predicts that rain and thunder showers may occur in some isolated places of the state on Tuesday.<br/> <br/>However the state Met Director J P Gupta says that there is no sign of monsoon activity in the coming three four days. <br/><br/>Jammu continues to be in the grip of severe heat wave which has paralysed normal life in the area. People are rushing to cool places like Patnitop, Bhaderwah, Sanasar, Mansar and to Kashmir Valley to avoid the scorching heat. The day temperature in winter Capital of Jammu and Kashmir State, Jammu is hovering between 44 to 46 Degrees Celsius which is above normal by 2-3 degrees.<br/><br/>Not only the day temperature but even the temperature during the nights is also showing increasing trend. Coupled with the rising day and night temperature, the water scarcity and erratic power supply with low voltage has made life of the people miserable with no respite seemingly possible in the next couple of days as weathermen have predicted dry weather for few more days. The scorching heat on Monday claimed life of a person in Jammu city. People here say that they have not witnessed such intense heat during the last 25 years.<br/><br/>Hissar recorded its hottest day on Monday as it sizzled at 47.8 degree Celsius with searing heat sweeping Haryana, Punjab and Chandigarh. The maximum temperature recorded in the region has been between 42 to 47.8 degree Celsius. <br/> <br/>Amritsar experienced temperature at 43.8 degree Celsisus while Ludhiana recorded 43.4 degree Celsius. At Chandigarh the minimum tempeature was recorded at eight degree above normal at 32.8 degree Celsius, the highest in the month so far.<br/> <br/>In Madhya Pradesh, heat wave like conditions are prevailing in many parts of the state. Our Bhopal correspondent reports that in Gwalior-Chmabal region temperatures continued to be recorded six to seven degrees above normal for the fourth day in row on Monday. <br/> <br/>Voice Cast Gwalior recorded the highest maximum temperature of the state at 47.2 degrees during the last 24 hours while Sheopur and Datia sizzled at 47 degrees. <br/> <br/>Despite arrival of monsoon in Malwa and Nimad region, people are still waiting for relief from sweltering heat in these areas too. Strong winds and dust storm hit some parts of the state including Bhopal and Jabalpur last night. In Bhopal one person was killed when a tree under which he was sitting fell on him. <br/> <br/>According to Met department monsoon is not likely to revive soon in the state. According to it rains and thunder storms are expected in some parts of Rewa, Sagar, Jabalpur, Bhopal, Indore and Hoshangabad divisions during the next 24 hours.<br/><br/>At Chandigarh the minimum temperature was recorded at eight degree above normal at 32.8 degree Celsius, the highest in the month so far.<br/>
