The Government has said that it is taking all necessary steps to deal with the problem of unemployment among youth by promoting several new initiatives and schemes in the country.
Addressing a function in New Delhi today, Labour and Employment minister Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge said,besides this the Centre is also implementing various skill development programmes and increased investment to train the youth. Mr Kharge maintained that despite the impact of global economic slowdown in 2007-08, India's growth in employment sector was good.
The minister sought co-operation from States to pursue more employment for the youth. He underlined the need for modernization and up gradation of skill development programmes in the country. Mr Kharge also stressed the need to educate the youth in an advanced manner to meet the growing demands of industry.
Earlier talking about the violation of labour laws in Special Economic Zones, Mr Kharge reaffirmed the stand that his ministry will not tolerate any violation.
