Several agreements in diverse fields are expected to be signed during the Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang's State visit to India. He will hold delegation level talks with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at Hyderabad House on Wednesday. A spokesman of the External Affairs Ministry said in New Delhi that cooperation in hydrocarbon sector, culture, civil nuclear energy, space, health and education will be high on the agenda in the talks. He said, entire gamut of bilateral relations will come up for discussion in the talks to further deepen strategic partnership and defence ties and explore new areas of cooperation.
Mr. Sang was accorded a red carpet welcome after he reached New Delhi. He will be accorded a ceremonial reception at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan and later visit Rajghat to pay homage to the father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on Wednesday. Mr. Sang will also exchange views with the Captains of Industry to enhance business ties between the two countries. The bilateral trade has reached 1.8 billion US Dollars in the first six months of this year and it is poised to reach 7 billion by 2015. The Vietnamese President will also hold discussions with External Affairs and Defence Ministers besides Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha on issues of mutual concern.
The President Mrs Pratibha Devi Singh Patil is hosting a banquet in the honour of the visiting dignitary. Before leaving for Colombo on Thursday, Mr Sang will also visit Mumbai.
