Tunisia’s Interior Minister Ahmed Friaa said today that seventy-eight people have been killed in the country during a month of turmoil. He was almost quadrupling the official death toll announced earlier.The last official figure of 21 people killed was given by the government on January 11 — before the ouster of disgraced president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. The Paris-based International Federation for Human Rights said on January 13 that 66 people had been killed.
