A road accident south of the Polish capital, Warsaw, has left 17 people dead. Police say the accident occurred around dawn in thick fog when a lorry and a mini bus collided near the town of Nowe Miasto nad Pilica, about 80 km from the capital. Sixteen people died on the spot and one later succumbed to his injuries in hospital. One person is being treated for serious injuries. Police have launched an investigation.
