Seven tortured bodies unearthed in Mexico

In Mexico, at least seven bodies with signs of torture have been unearthed at four burial sites on a property in northeastern Sinaloa state.Mazatlan Police Chief Trinidad Tirado said the bodies were found in four graves, had their hands tied together, showed signs of torture and were all shot in the head. He said they were buried months ago. Tirado said police were tipped off to the human remains by an anonymous caller who said there were bodies sticking out of the ground on the La Uva ranch.Sinaloa, facing the Gulf of California, has been wracked by drug-related violence and has seen some 1,300 murders so far this year. Violent clashes between rival drug cartels have killed some 28,000 people since President Felipe Calderon launched a major crackdown on crime in 2006, deploying 50,000 troops across the country.
