Seven persons, including two top Taliban commanders were killed in fresh violence in northwest Pakistan today even as troops continued operations to flush out militants from various parts of the tribal belt. Five militants, including Taliban commanders Alim Binori alias Khalil and Shamsul Haq, were killed in a clash with security forces in Madyan area of Swat early this morning.A minor girl was also killed when she was caught in crossfire between security forces and pro-Taliban militants in Lakaro area of Mohmand tribal region. The exchange of fire continued for four hours.Security forces have stepped up operations to flush out militants from the region over the past few days.
