Seven killed in rain related incidents in Ujjain Kumbh

In Madhya Pradesh, at least seven persons died and more than 80 were injured in rain related incidents at the Simhastha Kumbh in Ujjain. Pilgrims died as several pandals at the Kumbh fair venue collapsed due to heavy rains and high velocity winds yesterday afternoon. Undeterred by the yesterday's tragedy pilgrims at Ujjain Simhastha Mahakumbh are flocking at the banks of river Kshipra for holy dip on the occasion of 2nd Parva Snaan. <br/><br/>Seven pilgrims died and more than 80 others were injured when thunderstorm hit the Simhastha Kumbh fair, bringing down a number of pandals. The number of casualties could go up as three persons are still missing and many of the injured, undergoing treatment at different hospitals, were in a critical state.<br/><br/>Madhya Pradesh government has already announced interim relief for the affected people and their families. Relief operation and reconstruction work is in full swing. Electricity, water supply and transportation facilities were restored early this morning.
