Seven killed in Afghanistan suicide attack

A suicide bomber has attacked provincial Governor's office in north-east Afghanistan killing at least seven people. The Taliban said, it carried out the attack and was targeted at French Ambassador who was due to visit Governor's office at that time. He was unheart. The Interior Ministry said, the attack happened in Kapisa province. Provincial spokesman said that the attacker blew himself up about 200 metre from the office of Governor. He said, four of the dead were police officers. Meanwhile, Vice President Karim Khalili and Interior Minister Basmullah Mohammadi escaped a rocket attack. The mortar attack happened as they were visiting a new police training centre in Wardak Province. Reports say that both attacks occured at about the same time.
