Seven killed in Afghan earthquake

In Afghanistan , at least seven people were killed and 30 others were injured when a quake hit the northern part of the country last night. <br/> <br/>At least ten villages were ravaged in the earthquake and dozens of houses were either destroyed or partially damaged. The quake measuring 5.3 on Richter scale hit just before 6.30am local time. It had its epicenter halfway between capital Kabul and the northern city of Mazar-e Sharif at a depth of 10 km. <br/> <br/>The quake was felt in Kabul as well as the neighbouring countries of Uzbekistan and Tajikstan. Roads and communications are underdeveloped in the area and casualty reports take time to reach authorities. <br/> <br/>The governor of the affected district in Samangan province said that it takes more time to conclude the inspection and send humanitarian aid to the affected mountainous area. <br/><br/>
