Seven Indian shuttlers, including Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu and K. Srikanth, have officially earned the qualification for the forthcoming Rio Olympics. The pairs of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa, and Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy also made the cut after the latest BWF world rankings were released yesterday. Saina, who won a Bronze in the last Games at London, will represent India for the third time, while Jwala and Ashwini will be figuring in their second Olympics.Srikanth and Sindhu will be seen for the first time at the Olympic stage, with Manu and Sumeeth also set to represent the country in their maiden Games. It is also the first time India will have two Women's Singles players – Saina and Sindhu – at the Olympics. A total of 172 shuttlers have made it to the Games at Rio which begin on the 5th of August.
