Seven arrested in Mizoram charged for arson in villages

In Mizoram, seven persons have been arrested on the charge of arson in villages near Tripura border following the killing of a Mizo youth by suspected Bru National Army militants. <br/> Heavy deployment of Police and para-military forces has been made on the western belt of the State, bordering Tripura. According to Police, about 370 houses were burnt down during the last two days by anti-social following the incident. <br/> In view of the prevailing tense situation, the Mizoram government has postponed repatriation of young refugee personnel lodged in six refugee camps in Tripura. The State Home Minister Mr. R. Lalzirliana told this to reporters in Aizwal. The repatriation process was earlier scheduled to start today in a phased manner.<br/> Meanwhile, the state government has deployed a large number of state police, 3 companies of third Indian Reserve Battalian and more than 300 Fourth Indian Reserve Battalian personnel and shoot at site order has also been given in case miscreants indulge in arson and other forms of violence. The government has announced a payment of one lakh rupees to the next of kin of the youth killed by suspected Reang militant. <br/>
