In the last six years, the Narendra Modi government has laid a lot of emphasis on improving the health infrastructure in the country to provide affordable and quality healthcare to the countrymen.<br />”<br />”The government is implementing a flagship scheme – Ayushman Bharat, to achieve the vision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). This scheme aims to undertake path breaking interventions to holistically address the healthcare system covering prevention, promotion and ambulatory care at the primary, secondary and tertiary level. Ayushman Bharat adopts a continuum of care approach, comprising two interrelated components, which are -Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). Launching the Ayushman Bharat- Jan Aarogya Yojana from Jharkhnad on 23rd September, 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, it is the world's largest scheme that aims at providing health assurance of up to five lakh rupees to more than 50 crore people of the country.</span><br />
