Sero Survey in Karnataka finds 27.3 % COVID prevalence across 30 districts

The Sero Survey conducted by the Health Department in Karnataka has captured the total prevalence of COVID pandemic across 30 districts.<br />'' <br />''The survey done between 3rd and 16th September involving 16,585 samples has shown COVID prevalence of 27.3 per cent and infection fatality rate due to COVID-19 at 0.05 per cent.<br />'' <br />''Out of total sample size, results of 15,624 persons were submitted to arrive at the conclusion.<br />'' <br />''AIR correspondent reports<b>, </b>the survey covered low risk groups like pregnant women and outpatients, moderate risk groups like bus conductors, vegetable vendors and individuals in containment zones and the third category were with high risk groups like aged persons with co-morbidity.<br />'' <br />''Analysis of Rapid Antigen test, RT-PCR test and Elisa Antibody Test were conducted on these groups.<br />'' <br />''The survey has helped find out that surge in COVID cases is yet to occur in the districts with lowest estimated prevalence.<br />'' <br />''The study has recommended establishing the district level facility based sentinel sero-surveillance to monitor the trend of infection in the long term.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Two more Sero surveys will be conducted in December and March.</span><br />
