The father of the student, who is a Government employee, told news agency ANI that a local leader of his hometown area contacted the Prime Minister's office, at which point, PM Narendra Modi instructed the High Commissioner of India in Dhaka to assess the situation and extend all possible assistance.
''
''Since the High Commission team was already in contact with their family and classmates of Shoaib, the Mission team were able to prepare necessary arrangements for airlifting the student, with the direct assistance of the Health and Civil Aviation Ministries in India. At the same time, the High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami visited the hospital on Sunday night to meet and reassure the parents, and to see the patient and his doctors.
