Series of engaging events to take place before International Yoga Day in Sri Lanka

The High Commission of India in Sri Lanka, along with other diplomatic offices, is eagerly preparing for the upcoming 9th International Day of Yoga. A series of engaging events is scheduled to take place from June 17th to 21st, 2023.<br />''  <br />'' As a part of the meticulous preparations, a remarkable three-day yoga workshop was conducted across five cities in Sri Lanka. The workshop, which concluded today, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of Sri Lankan Armed Forces.<br />''  <br />'' Embracing the essence of this ancient practice, the yoga enthusiasts gathered at iconic locations in Colombo, Jaffna, Trincomalee, Hambantota, and Kandy to learn and immerse themselves in the various aspects of yoga. The workshops aimed to introduce and educate participants about the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga, further fostering the growing yoga culture in Sri Lanka.<br />''  <br />'' These preparatory events set the stage for the grand celebrations of the International Day of Yoga on 17th of June and 21st of June. The 9th edition of this global event aims to promote physical and mental well-being through yoga, while emphasizing the importance of harmony and unity among individuals and communities worldwide. A 'Global Ocean Ring' will be formed by performing yoga at select port locations worldwide, with the High Commission in Sri Lanka hosting an event at the Port of Colombo to join this global endeavor.<br />''  <br />'' As the eagerly anticipated International Day of Yoga draws closer, the High Commission of India and other diplomatic offices in Sri Lanka are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to make this year's celebrations a resounding success.
