Series of bomb blast leaves 8 dead in Iraq

In Iraq, eight people have been killed and 54 others injured in a series of bomb blasts in the cities of Baghdad and Mosul today. According to Voice of Iraq news agency, in Baghdad , three car bombs went off simultaneously near the Iranian embassy in Karadet Maryam area and the compounds of the Foreign Ministry and the Displacement and Migration Ministry, killing four persons and wounding 14 others. A total of 19 vehicles have been burnt down in the blast while a fourth car bomb was defused.<br/>In Mosul, four persons were killed and 40 others were injured when two car bombs went off consecutively near a church in al-Shifaa neighbourhood. The blast caused slight damage to the church. Mosul is the capital city of Ninewa province, which is situated 405 kilometre north of Baghdad.
