World number one Serena Williams has lifted her third consecutive US Open trophy and joined Tennis greats Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova on 18 Grand Slam titles. In the Women's Singles finals last night, the numero uno American defeated Caroline Wozniazki of Denmark in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3 to secure a record-equalling sixth US Open title.32-year-old Williams also overtook Briton Virginia Wade to become the second oldest Grand Slam winner after Navratilova, who had won Wimbledon in 1990 aged 33.For the Men's Singles trophy, Japan's Kei Nishikori will lock horns with Marin Cilic of Croatia today. Tenth placed Nishikori, who became the first Japanese Grand Slam singles finalist at the US Open, had stunned world number one Novak Djokovic and world number four Stanislas Wawrinka enroute the finals. Marin Cilic, on the other hand, had showed world number 3 Roger Federer the door in the semi-finals.In the Men's Doubles, America's top seeded Bryan brothers, Bob and Mike clinched their fifth US Open and 16th major title last night. They defeated the Spanish pair of Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez, 6-3, 6-4.
