In the semi-finals last night, Serena defeated Russia's Maria Sharapova in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2. Azarenka, who was dethroned from the World Number One position, beat Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland, 6-3, 6-3. In the Sau Paolo, Rafael Nadal will face David Nalbandian of Argentina in the finals of the Brazil Open. The Spanish Nadal, who is on a comeback trail after being out of the games due to injury, defeated Argentine Martin Alund in the semi-finals.
