Serena Williams, Andy Murray move into third round of seasons' final Grand Slam

In the US Open, World Number One Serena Williams and World Number Two Andy Murray moved into the third round of seasons' final Grand Slam.In women's singles event, top seed Serena Williams walked past her opponent to move in the third round. Serena after a bad outing in Rio Olympics is trying to gain momentum, as she defeated compatriot Vania King 6-3, 6-3 in the second round. Fourth ranked Polish Agnieszka Radwa?ska beat Brit Naomi Broady 7-6, 6-3 to move in the 3rd round. While last year's semi-finalist, Simona Halep of Romania also moved in 3rd round registering win over Czech's Lucie Safarova 6-3, 6-4. In the 2nd round of Men's Singles event, Briton Murray registered easy straight set victory over Spaniard Marcel Granollers 6-4, 6-1, 6-4. While Japanese Nishikori recorded win against Russian Karen Khachanov 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.The Indo-German pair of Leander Paes and Andre Begemann are yet to play their first round match in men's doubles event. While, Rohan Bopanna along with his partner moved to 2nd round. Sania Mirza along with her new partner Barbora Strycova have also made it to the second round of women's doubles.
