The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained a modest 98 points, or 0.5 percent, to close at 19,674, on buying by funds. The Sensex had lost 21 points at the day's low, and added 119 points at the day's high. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 27 points, or 0.5 percent, to 5,971.In the broader market, the BSE Midcap index advanced 1.2 percent, and the Smallcap index moved up 1 percent.
