The BSE benchmark Sensex gained by 83 points to 20,369 in late morning trade today on sustained buying by funds and retail investors triggered by a firming trend on other Asian bourses.Earlier, in the morning, the Sensex had opened with a gain of 138 points.The wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty rose by 28 points to 6,215 .
