Snapping a four-session losing streak, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange zoomed 473 points , or 3 percent, to 16,524, as investors bought beaten-down stocks, on the back of rising global markets, on Tuesday. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange spurted 136 points, or 2.8 percent, to 4,971.
