Sensex up by 38 pts in noon trade

Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange stood 38 points up at 19,730, a short while ago. Earlier it opened 65 points higher in the morning, extending two-session winning streak on sustained buying by funds and retail investors, driven by a firming trend on the other Asian bourses. Broad-based National Stock Exchange Nifty index was trading 7 points up at 5,914.Meanwhile, the Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was up 0.27 per cent while, the Japan's Nikkei gained 0.05 per cent in the morning trade today.The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.16 per cent up in the previous session.
