The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange opened 146 points, or 0.8 per cent higher, at 19,566 Monday morning, on investor buying in fundamentally strong shares, amid expectations of strong fourth quarter corporate results, and a positive trend on the other Asian bourses. Later, the benchmark index advanced further, to stand 212 points, or 1.1 percent in positive territory, at 19,632, in afternoon deals, a short while ago. Other stock markets in Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore were up by between 0.1 percent and 1.4 percent, after a US government jobs report showed that the US unemployment rate dropped to a two-year low of 8.8 percent in March.
